Q: How do I get the note location for an inaccessible point which I can see and photograph?
A: Since the accuracy of the GPS in typical hand held device is on the order of 10m, we allow the user to simply move the pin to the correct location by dragging it. This method can be used also to drag the pin across a river, a lake, etc. The pin location will then be associated with the note.

A: Our app allows importing phtos from the device gallery as a part of the camera function. So, the solution is to take any number of pictures with the device camera and then import the desired pictures into a note or a series of notes. Q: How do I get my own company logo on the PDF forms?
A: Connect your device to iTunes and open the App tab. Scroll down to the File Transfer frame. Select FieldNotesPRO from the menu on the left. The file transfer frame will show the directories and files created and used by FieldNotesPRO. The graphics are contained in logo.png file. Use the default logo.png file as a format guide and create your own logo.png file with your letterhead. Overwrite the default logo.png with your graphics.

Q: My KMZ files produced with FieldNotes don't show images in Google Earth on iPad or iPhone.
A: The Google Earth app for iPhone and iPad does not handle embedded images in kmz files. However, the files will open correctly on a Mac or a PC.

Q: How do I delete/move notes?
A: To delete or reorganize your notes in FieldNotes, you simply press and hold a note from the main launcher view. Once the icons begin to wobble back and forth, you can either tap the 'x' in the corner of the icon, or move them around however you like.

Q: How do I add a blank page to draw on?
A: In the 'Photos' subview from within a note, you can long-press the icon of the pencil in the upper left-hand corner of the view to bring up a blank sketchpad.

Q: I accidentally deleted a note! What can I do?
A: At this stage, our app does not support recovering lost data from accidental deletions.

A: This is a relatively common problem. Luckily the fix is easy. Just go into your device preferences, select 'Location Services'. Ensure that Location Services for the entire device are 'ON', and also that the Location Services for our individual app are 'ON'.

Q: My old KMZ files produced with FieldNotes in 2011 don't show images in Google Earth anymore!
A: This is due to Google Earth 6.0 changing the file path conventions for their application. The newest update on iTunes repairs this problem with export. However, KMZ files produced with earlier versions can be fixed using our KMZFixit utility which can be downloaded here: KMZFixit.dmg. To use this utility, simply open the .dmg file on a Mac and double-click on the KMZFixit app inside. This will open up the application window. To fix your old KMZ files, select them all in the Finder, and drag them onto the window. The app will fix the files, and place them in a folder called 'KMZFixit' on your desktop.
